Sidney was born February 17, 1953 in New Iberia to the late Theogene Segura and the late Eula Boudreaux Segura, and passed away peacefully Saturday, June 8, 2019 at New Iberia Manor North. He was 66.
Sidney worked for many years with Norris Rader’s in New Iberia. After the closing of that business, Sidney retired and spent his time with many pastimes and hobbies. He, like most in his family, enjoyed fishing. But his greatest interest was in antiques, gardening and genealogy. He often visited the flea markets and found many treasures and had a fascination with antique sewing machines. Sidney was the historian of the family and could provide anyone with information that asked, and if you were looking for fresh vegetables, he had them to give. He lived a simple life filled with love and kindness for his family. He will be missed dearly.
Survivors include his brother Philip Segura, his aunt Mary Boudreaux Ponthieux and numerous cousins whom Sidney loved dearly.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Irene Marie Segura; his brother Francis “France” Segura; and his grandparents, Adonis Segura and Margaret Gary Segura and Dorville Philip Boudreaux and Felicia Bonin Boudreaux.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Stein, Pat Judice, Teddy Segura and Tommy Hebert. Honorary pallbearers are Lory Segura, Jay Boudreaux and Godfrey Boudreaux.
