NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Sidney Migues, Jr., the former, Nileas Verret, age 75, at 2:00 pm Thursday April 14, 2011 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church with Deacon Theo Landry officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Jeanerette.
All night visitation will be held from 12:30 pm Wednesday until service time on Thursday with the Rosary at 6:30 pm Wednesday.
A native of Jeanerette and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Migues passed away at 9:05 pm on Sunday April 10, 2011 at Lafayette General.
Mrs. Migues loved playing bingo and going to the casino, watching old movies and game shows and cooking. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother with a heart of gold who loved spending time with her family. She will be missed dearly by all of them.
She is survived by her sons, James Norris Buteaux, Jr. and wife Kim of New Iberia and Glenn Buteaux and wife Debbie of Jeanerette; daughter, Cheryl Reaux and husband Billy of New Iberia; grandchildren, Aurelia Buteaux, Morgan Buteaux, Blake Buteaux, Brent Buteaux, Lance Buteaux, Melony Pitre, Megan Buteaux, Alaina Buteaux, Rachel Romero, Billy Joe Reaux, Masey Bergeron, Brandy Mertz, and Debbie Richard; 22 great grandchildren; and brother, Arthur Lee Verret of Jeanerette and special niece Patricia Duhon.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Norris Buteaux, Sr.; second husband, Sidney Migues, Jr.; grandchild, Glenn Paul Buteaux, Jr.; parents, Euljy and Masay Migues Verret; sisters, Ruth Desormeaux, Margaret Breaux, and Laura May Bourque; and brothers, Woodrow Verret, Drolin Verret, Alvin “Tenu” Verret, Huey Paul Verret, and E. J. Verret.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Buteaux, James Norris Buteaux, Billy Reaux, Blake Buteaux, Lance Buteaux, Brent Buteaux, and Billy Joe Reaux.
Honorary pallbearers will be Colby Buteaux, Logan Buteaux, Jance Buteaux, Carter Buteaux, Braylon Bergeron, Brayton Mertz, Bryce Reaux, Kollin Reaux, Michael Pitre and Mitchell Pitre.
