A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
Mr. Marshall passed away on November 9, 2017 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Lafayette. He was born in Dallas, TX on October 31, 1942 to the late Marshall Jones Marshall and Alice Lawler Lankston.
Nathan was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He had a joy for old John Wayne movies and WW2 history. Nathan could recited every line of a movie or recall any WW2 battle in an instant. He was a kind a compassionate man who would often go out of his way to help those in need. Ranging from helping stranded motorist to administering CPR, Nathan was never afraid to step up. It did not matter who it was – family, friends, or strangers- Nathan was always ready to lend a hand. He had a passion for old cars and collecting model cars. He was also very handy and could fix just about anything. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda F. Marshall; children, Nathan Marshall of New Iberia, Adrian Marshall of New Iberia, and Dena Gauthier and husband Terrence of Kenner; half-brother, Robert Land; half-sisters, Katherine "Kathy" Southward, Marlene Cranford, and Lisa McDowell; and grandchildren, Chloe and Jean Louis Gauthier.
He is preceded in death by his father, Marshall Jones Marshall; mother, Alice Marie Lawler Lankston; and sister, Sandra Jory.
