Mark was born in Lafayette to the late Olite Gallet and the late Antoine Cormier. Despite facing early challenges from a car accident, Mark courageously embraced life with unwavering faith and a deep commitment to his family. His life was marked by simplicity and fulfillment, and he was known for his infectious sense of humor and playful spirit, always brightening gatherings with his jokes.
Though we grieve his loss deeply, we hold dear his memory and the lessons he taught us about living each day with happiness and gratitude. Until we meet again, Mark, may you rest peacefully.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Allen Cormier and wife Betty, Michael Cormier, Laurie Dore', and Christina Domingue; his aunt and uncle, Theresa Lasseigne and husband William "Bill" Lasseigne; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who adored him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine Cormier and Olite Gallet; his step-father who raised him as his own; and his brothers, Eugene Cormier and Jeffery Gallet.
A funeral service celebrating Mark's life will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Evangeline Funeral Home. Fr. Ed Degeyter will officiate. Mark will be laid to rest at Nativity Mausoleum following the service.
