Marie Louise Wagner Battaglia

Marie was born April 2, 1928 in New Orleans to the late Louis John Wagner, Jr. and the late Elizabeth Frigerio Wagner. She passed away at the age of 88 on Friday, January 27, 2017 in New Iberia with her family at her side.

Mrs. Battaglia was co-owner and operator of Sam’s Supermarker on Trotter Street in New Iberia years ago. Some of her favorite pastimes were quilting and doing arts and crafts.

She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons, Sammy Culotta, III and Louis J. Culotta, Sr. both of New Iberia; two grandsons, Sam “Chip” Culotta, IV and Louis J. Culotta, Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Louis James Webster, Emily Anne Webster and Sheyann Rose Culotta.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Joseph Culotta and her brother, Louis J. Wagner.
