Jorgen Larsen

NEW IBERIA – Memorial Services will be conducted for Mr. Jorgen Larsen from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, September 5, 2011 at Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia. Interment will be held privately at a later date. Mr. Larsen passed away in his sleep on Wednesday night, August 31, 2011 at his home in New Iberia.

A native of Denmark, Mr. Larsen was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved sailing, skiing and grilling outdoors. Jorgen loved sports, and played soccer and tennis in his youth.

Jorgen’s work at Perma-Pipe, Inc. was very important to him. Employed as a senior engineer in chemical engineering, he enjoyed a full career, traveling near and far and playing a pivotal role in the company. His greatest joy was his family. Perhaps Jorgen is best remembered as a faithful and loving husband, a tremendously adored father of two children in Denmark and beloved step-father of two children here in the U.S., and in the last few years, as the playful grandfather of seven.

He is survived by his wife, Paris Yvette Larsen, his son, Nis Larsen of Denmark, his daughter, Agnete Nielsen of Denmark, his sister, Ingrid Munter of Denmark, his step-son, Shad Murphy of Aspen, Colorado, his step-daughter, Meah Bennett of New Albany, Mississippi, and his grandchildren Ellen, Jakob, Rasmus, Karoline, Morgan, Kidron and Trulea.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellen and Holger Larsen and brother, Erik Larsen.
