Inez Lapointe Robicheaux

Inez was born in Vermilion Parish on December 25, 1935 to the late Thomas LaPointe, Sr. and Eunice Hanks LaPointe and was one of five children.

Inez was a kind and light hearted woman who enjoyed the company of her friends and family. She loved her grandchildren more than anything else and enjoyed fussing over and at them. A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Inez will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Shelia Robicheaux; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Murphy Robicheaux; children, Hubert Robicheaux, Donald Robicheaux, Billy Robicheaux, Debra Robicheaux, Sabra Williams, and Linda Robicheaux; grandchild, Toby Norris; great grandchild, Gavin Varnado; and siblings, Bernice LaPointe Menard Hazel LaPointe Reaux, Edwin LaPointe, and Thomas LaPointe, Jr.

A funeral service will be held for Inez at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia. Rev. Rachelle Brown, a Chaplin with Heart of Hospice, will officiate. Interment will follow at Migues Cemetery in Delcambre.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM by the Men's Rosary Group. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday at 8:00 AM until the time of services.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers Donald Robicheaux, Jeremie Williams, Michael Fontenot, Jayden Varnado, Anthony Norris and Caleb Burkhart.

Honorary pallbearers will be Isaac Burkhart and Lakin Melancon.
