A native of New Iberia and resident of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Eula passed away at 4:40 am on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Baton Rouge General surrounding by her loving family.
Born on February 28, 1923 to the late Francois and Remussia Bouillion Meyers, Eula was one of nine children. Eula was the founder and owner of Viator’s Drive Inn since 1959 and it is still in operation today. Her son Brandy Viator now runs the business. She also owned Viator’s Fine Foods, Wilson’s Seafood and Steakhouse, and Viator’s Shell Gas Station. One of Eula’s favorite pastimes was to go to her daughter and son-in-laws restaurant, a sea food restaurant called Poor Boy Lloyds in Baton Rouge, on Friday nights to eat and listen to music. The bands would always dedicate song to Eula and play her favorite song, “Don’t Mess with my Toot Toot.” Our mother was a loving, caring, kind, and God fearing woman. We love her and will forever keep her in our hearts. She will be sadly missed by her daughter and son, all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother, and her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Landry Taylor and husband Freddie of Baton Rouge; son, Brandy Viator and wife Catherine of Lafayette; one brother, Fred Meyers and wife Lily of New Iberia; grandchildren, Dean Taylor, Angie Viator, Rachel Taylor, and Tonia Lerille and husband Stanley Lerille; great grandchildren, Alex Credeur, Ainsley Lerille, and Davis Lerille; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Landry; parents, Francois and Remussia Meyers; grandchild, Rochelle Rachel Taylor; brothers, Claude, Alex, Wilde, and Freddie Meyers; and sisters, Euna Fremin, Eunice Deslatte, and Beulah LeBlanc.
Pallbearers will be Brandy Viator, Dean Taylor, Freddie Taylor, Shane Meyers, Van Meyers, Ladd Meyers, Carroll Deslatte, Kenneth Meyers, Blaine Meyers, Keith Meyers, Zeb Michael Meyers, and Drake Talbot.
