NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Cyril Joseph Hebert, Jr., age 78, at 10:00 am on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Fr. Mark Derise will be the celebrant for the services; readers will be RJ Fontenot and Kristin Hebert and gift bearers will be Heather Fontenot and Candace Faughn. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Graveside Services conducted by the VFW Post #1982 Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday until service time.
A native of Jeanerette and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Hebert passed away at1:00 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2011 peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family and friends.
Mr. Hebert was a veteran of the United States Air Force who served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the New Iberia Fire Department as a Captain after 25 years of service. Mr. Hebert loved to travel, enjoyed being with his family whom he loved very much. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy for his family to cherish for many years to come.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril Hebert, Sr. and Odile Hebert; his first wife of 22 years, Doris Boutte Hebert; three grandchildren, Devin Doumit; Christopher Bienvenue and Justin Hebert; one sister, Lorina H. Nelson and one brother, Willie Hebert.
Pallbearers will be Chad Segura, Edwin Hebert, Jr., Cody Hebert, Ryan Hebert, Trevis Hebert and Trey Touchet.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Segura and Tyler Hebert.
The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the many caregivers for their wonderful care and all of the friends who kept him in their thoughts and prayers.
