A Mass of Christian Burial will be held to celebrate the life of Clark Thomas Romero, age 69, on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. Msgr. J. Robert Romero will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visiting hours at Evangeline Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Friday until 12:30 pm.
Clark, born on August 11, 1954, in New Iberia, LA to the late Clarence and Gertrude “Gertie” Resweber Romero. He peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at his residence.
Clark dedicated many years of his life as a Project Manager in Commercial Construction, showcasing his commitment, professionalism, and skill in his chosen field. His passion for woodwork and the shared ownership of an Arts and Craft business with his beloved wife allowed them to embark on numerous adventures and travel experiences together.
A devout member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church, Clark served as a Eucharistic Minister and represented the parish at Catholic High School. His faith played a significant role in shaping his character and contributing to the community.
In the face of adversity, Clark was blessed with the unwavering support of his classmates, whose generosity and assistance proved invaluable during his recovery from a stroke. The family expresses eternal gratitude to James Shea, Rene Gary, Richard David, Brian Marie, Kevin LeBlanc, John Durand, Paul Burton, Mark Molbert, K Evans, Paul Broussard, Glenn Froisy, and Kent Desormeaux for their compassion and friendship.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Darleen Judice Romero; two sons, Christopher T. Romero and Nicholas Romero and wife Heather; four grandchildren, Sara Romero, Phillip Romero, Camillia Romero and Bennett Romero; three sisters, Cecile Haley and husband Alvin; Patricia Kidd and husband Frank and Myra Champagne, numerous nieces and nephews and his sisters in laws, Arleen Oubre and husband Burt; Sharon Segura and Bonnie Racca and husband Don.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his in laws, Roland and Hilda Judice; his siblings, Kurt Romero and Claire Duplechain, his step mother, Gussie Romero and his brother in law, Travis Segura.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Sara Romero, Phillip Romero, Bart Romero, Joe Kidd, Jason Oubre and Broc Segura. Christopher Romero, Nicholas Romero, Camillia Romero and Bennett Romero will be honorary pallbearers.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
Clark Thomas Romero will be remembered for his resilience, kindness, and the positive impact he made on the lives of those around him. May he rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in the cherished memories they shared with him.
