NEW IBERIA – Funeral services will be conducted for Anthony James Broussard, Sr., 49, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Neel of Assembly Christian Center will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Marcellus Cemetery.
Visitation will take place at Evangeline Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:00 am to service time.
A native of New Iberia and resident of Lydia, Mr. Broussard passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 27, 1969 to Frances Broussard, Sr. and the late Cynthia Johnson Broussard, Anthony was one of four children. Anthony, who was better known as “Snake”, was an avid outdoorsmen who enjoyed the simple life of county living. He could often be found in the Vermillion Bay or the Henderson Basin hunting, fishing, and trolling for shrimp. Anthony was perfectly at home outdoors and on the water. He was a good humored and fun loving husband, father, and son who cared deeply for his family. Anthony will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, April Semar Broussard; children, Anthony Broussard, Jr., Alanee Broussard, Allie Broussard, Abigail Broussard, and Adrienne Broussard all of Lydia; father, Frances Broussard, Sr. of New Iberia; brothers, Frances Broussard, Jr. and wife Laurel of New Iberia and Timothy Broussard, Sr. and wife Michelle of Lydia; and sister, Nancy Broussard of New Iberia.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia Johnson Broussard; maternal grandparents, Claude and Hermina Tauzin Johnson; and paternal grandparents Ira A. Sr. and Daisy Moss Broussard.
Pallbearers will be Frances Broussard, Jr., Timothy Broussard, Sr., Lawrence “Jun” Thompson, Steven Devilier, Ryan Polk, Joey Edgar, and Joey Lopez.
Honorary pallbearer will be Anthony Broussard, Jr.
