Bob was born on December 12, 1942 to Walter and Barbara (Kloster) Balthazor in Minneapolis, MN. He grew up and was educated in Minneapolis. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1960. Bob enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1965 after four years of service. He married Diane Lundin on February 10, 1968. Together they raised their two children Jennifer and Paul in Brooklyn Park. Bob worked for many years at Northwestern Bell and Qwest maintaining the lines, servicing pay phones and retired as a supervisor. After retirement Bob enjoyed working for Morrie’s car dealerships.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a man of few words but with a huge heart and would do anything for anyone. He was of devout Catholic faith. He enjoyed attending church, golfing, fishing, going out for dinner with Diane and friends and traveling. He especially enjoyed attending sporting events and activities of his children and grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane; son: Paul (Michele) Balthazor of Orono, MN; daughter: Jennifer (Ron) Och of Saint Michael, MN; grandchildren: Joey and Samantha Och and Ashton, Brody and Carter Balthazor. Bob is also survived by his identical twin brother: Walter of Champlin, MN; sister: Carol Smith of Coon Rapids, MN and by many other loving relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Barbara; brother: Richard, and by other loving relatives.
Celebration of Bob’s life will take place on Monday, June 15th 2020 from 5-7pm at the Kapala-Glodek-Malone Funeral Home in New Hope, MN. Prayer service 7pm.
Private family interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
