Born in Minneapolis to Peder & Jane (Johnson) Christiansen on August 20, 1921. She married William G. McGowan in 1944. After William’s passing in 1966, Lorraine spent over 30 years with her partner Alf Anderson living in Brooklyn Park, MN and wintering in Mesa, AZ for 17 years. Lorraine had many interest and hobbies that kept her busy well past retirement. She loved crafts of all types, as well as playing any kind of card game or bingo. She was a whiz at crossword puzzles and trivial pursuit, and enjoyed dancing and golf. She belongs to a very close-knit group of women friends (including her sister Jane) that met monthly for 35 years. The women and their spouses also got together for many parties, as well as spending family time together with all of their children at picnics and other gatherings. She outlived all but one of the women in the group (Betty), as well as all of their spouses.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her Husband William; 2 Siblings, Paul and Jane; and her Life Partner, Alf Anderson.
Survivors include her Daughter, Bonnie McGowan; Sons, William (Annette) McGowan, and Paul McGowan, along with 8 Grandchildren, Chandra Rachel (Patrick), Shane McGowan (Jerri), Jamie Soler (Chris), Kelly, Shannon, and Tracy McGowan, Lisa McGowan, and Erin McGowan; and 10 Great-grandchildren.
