Thomas Martin Lynch Jr.

Thomas M. Lynch Jr. of Stony Point, NY, 60, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 at home with his family by his side. Tom grew up in New City, attended Clarkstown schools, graduated from SUNY Oneonta, and eventually settled in Stony Point where he was a resident for 33 years. He loved being part of the tight knit North Rockland community. He always saw the good in people and brought out the best in his athletes and students. Tom loved coaching in any capacity and teaching at the North Rockland High School Extension. He was a dedicated educator and coach who impacted countless student athletes during his 30+ year tenure. He enjoyed any time spent with his many friends, sports -- whether watching, playing or coaching, and spending weekends in PA at his lake house with his family and dog, Clancy. His greatest joys came from his family. He is survived by his wife, Lisa and his three children, Tommy III (Jackie), Olivia and Tierney, his mother, Joyce, his three sisters, Carol (Bill), Theresa (Scott) and Kelly (Chris) and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his two fathers, Thomas Lynch Sr. and Richard Tigue. Tom will be missed by all who knew him.

Family will receive friends and family on Tuesday from 5-8pm and Wednesday from 4-8pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10am at St. Augustine’s Church in New City followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
