A proud Bronx native, Sean was born to Irish immigrants, Noreen and William Flanagan, on April 3, 1963. Childhood days were spent growing up in Riverdale. He attended St. Margaret Of Cortona Grammar School and was a graduate of St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School. Sean recently retired after a 35 year career with Con Edison.
On October 28, 1989, Sean married the love of his life, Laurie Reynolds. The couple became the proud parents of three wonderful children: Liam, Brendan and Caitlin. Together, they filled their lives with music, Yankee games, cheerleading and an enormous devotion to the Dallas Cowboys!
In addition to his wife and children, Sean is survived by his brother and sister: William (Victoria) Flanagan, Maura (John) Monaghan, his sister-in-law: Doreen (Jeff) Meyer and his brother-in-law, Peter Reynolds. “Uncle Sean” will be dearly missed by his loving nieces and nephews: Brian, Siobhán, & Maura Monaghan, Jack & Faith Flanagan and Katherine, Lauren, Michael, & William Meyer. We will always treasure the many wonderful memories with our large extended family throughout the United States, Ireland, and England. Sean was also blessed with many wonderful friends for whom we are so grateful. Especially, his best friend since first grade, Pat Foley.
Although we mourn our loss, we are comforted and inspired by how courageously Sean celebrated his life this past year. We thank you all for your love and support. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated. https://www.stjude.org/
