Santina Manna (nee Tani), 72, of New City, passed away on Monday, October 18th. She was born at home on April 14th, 1949, in Lago, Calabria, to the late Romeo and Elizabeth (DeLuca) Tani. At age 19, Santina moved to New York with her husband Mario, who she remained married to until her death. A devout mother to her children Maria Manna (husband Maurizio Policicchio) and Giovanni Manna (wife Elizabeth) and ‘Nonnina’ to her grandchildren Sam Policicchio (fiance Mariangela Agovino), Carmela Anichiarico (husband Joseph), Victoria Manna and Mario Manna; Santina was the matriarch of her family.
A beloved sister to 7 siblings, aunt and great aunt to many adored nieces and nephews, cousin and friend. Her home was the epicenter for her family and she lived her life always bringing together those she loved. She loved traveling to her second home in Hollywood, Florida, where she could be found hosting dinner parties, sometimes even in costume. Santina made it her life’s purpose to make those around her laugh, to make them feel loved and to make them uncomfortably full after a home cooked meal.
She was predeceased by her parents Romeo and Elizabeth (DeLuca) Tani and brother Giovanni Tani.
