Ron was born to Clara (nee Georgetti) & Pasquale D’Elia. He grew up in the Bronx & Mount Vernon, graduated from A.B. Davis High School and afterwards went onto technical school. Ronnie moved to Rockland County with his wife & two daughters in 1973, where he lived the rest of his life. Ron was pre deceased by his parents, his granddaughter, Samantha Lyn Stone, and his brother-in-law, Gaetano Foti. He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Santa/Tina (nee Foti), his brother & sister-in-law, Robert & Linda D’Elia, his daughters, Patricia (Patti) Stone and Angela Mako and husband, Nick. Ron is also survived by his grandsons, Cameron Stone and Michael Mako, who loved the quality time they spent with their Papa D, and will be missed by his nephews, many cousins and friends.
He had a long 39-year career in communications with Western Union International/MCI before retiring. Ronnie was an avid & competitive tennis player & enjoyed racquetball, paddleball, volleyball, golf & bowling. He was very proud of his Italian heritage. Ron loved cooking calzones, making homemade manicotti, and couldn’t get enough espresso & cannolis.
We are so grateful he spent his last week being well-loved and cared for by the hospice staff at Joe Raso Home.
