Robert Peter Russo

Robert Peter Russo, 69, passed away on April 27, 2014. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 21, 1944 to Gandolfo and Jennie (Ignizo) Russo. He married the love of his life, Lynne, on June 26, 1966. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He was the president of the Lions Club for many years. Robert loved exercising and biking. He was a movie fanatic and loved to go on vacations. His greatest passion was cars; he couldn't have enough of them. He was all about experiencing life in the moment but his greatest joy came from his precious grandchildren. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Lynne (Rogers) Russo; his children Jeffrey Russo and Christine Kip (T.R.); his mother Jennie Russo; his sister Johanne Caglione (Bill); his brothers James (Rita), Stephen (Alice), and Randy (Linda); his grandsons Ryan, Danny, Sean, Zeke, and Milo; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Gandolfo; his son David; and his brother Richard. Robert will be missed by all who knew him. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 30th from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 1st, 10am, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, West Nyack, followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to theCancer Society or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
