Robert F. Klotz of New City, NY, 88, passed way on June 25, 2019. He was born in Queens, NY. He proudly served our country in the Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the NYPD for 20 years thereafter. Bob was very proud to be a Tin Can Sailor and always relished reunions with his shipmates.
Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alice, his daughter Patty (Michael), son Michael (Joyce), daughter Eileen, daughter-in-law Cindy, grandchildren Mark, Michael, Evelyn & Alicia, great grandchildren Aidan and Taylor, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his son Robert Jr. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Bob was a member of Nanuet Seniors II and enjoyed taking part in the various trips and activities planned by the Club. He was also a member of the American Legion. Bob loved music, particularly opera, and spent many hours listening to it. He also enjoyed creating beautiful ceramics for his family. As the family photographer, he was always ready to capture a special moment or shining smile.
Family will receive friends on Monday, July 1 from 3-7 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home in New City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 2 at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church, New City, followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
