He was born on March 9, 1940, in the Bronx, NY. Bob, as he was affectionately known, lived a full life and was cherished by his family and friends.Bob was a sweet, thoughtful, kind-hearted, and humble man. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and his presence always brought joy to those around him.
In his younger years, Bob proudly served his country. He was associated with the U.S. Army Reserves from 1960 to 1966 and the U.S. National Guard from 1976 to 1977. Following and during his military service, Bob embarked on a career that spanned several decades. He served as an NYPD Police Officer for 21 years, protecting and serving his community with honor and integrity. After retiring from the police force, Bob worked as a Security Officer at Weil Gotshal & Manges for over 20 years.
Outside of his professional life, Bob was an active life member of the Valley Cottage Fire Department for thirty-six years. His dedication and his willingness to serve his community were greatly admired. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine, his sons Robert (Maria) and Edward (Colleen), and his cherished grandchildren, Ava, Ryan, Jocelyn, Lorelei, and Corinne. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Joseph.Bob was preceded in death by his sisters Mariana Shilkoski, Rose Colletti, and Pola Stevens, as well as his parents, Domenico and Giovana Colletti.
Bob Colletti will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Michael J Higgins Funeral Home located at 321 South Main Street in New City, NY, on July 7, from 4 PM to 8 PM.
