Michael Ross Hirsch passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2017. He was born on April 24, 1950 to Audrey and Raymond Hirsch. Michael graduated from Teaneck High School and pursued education in philosophy at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. Michael was always a free spirit and chose to spend his young adult years overseas exploring Europe and Israel. He then served in the Israel Army for a few years before returning to the States. It was in this experience that he discovered his passion for adventure and for traveling the world. Michael founded MZM Corp. in 1992 and accumulated 35 years of experience in the construction industry. He was a crackerjack estimator and former arbitrator. Michael was passionate about everything he did, and he especially loved being a husband and father. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie, and his three sons, Zachary, Mark and Jason. He is also survived by his sister, Lissa. Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm, at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, 11:30 am, at St. Francis of Assisi in West Nyack, followed by burial at Gethsemane Cemetery, Rockland Lake in Congers, NY.
The Hirsch family is setting up a scholarship fund for Michael's youngest son, Jason, who will be starting at Northeastern in the fall.
