Michael Bastone, 75, resident of Jensen Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 21st, Easter Sunday. Michael was born on May 18, 1943, the youngest of ten children, to John Bastone and Eriminia Merenda in Carolei, Italy. Michael immigrated the United States in 1956 and resided in the Bronx, NY. Later, he lived in New City, NY and Upper Saddle River, before retiring to Florida. Michael enlisted in the US Army and worked for many years as a chef, where he was best known for cooking in abundance and with an incredible amount of love.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marianne (Marcellino) Bastone, his daughters; Juliann Lombardi and husband Amalio Lombardi of Goshen, NY, and Diane Allen and husband Robert Allen of Midland Park, NJ. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Amanda, Marissa, Christopher, Nicholas and Michael who adored their Nonno.
Michael will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the incredible love he had for his family. He was often described by friends and loved ones as a “true gentleman.” Michael enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, gardening and taking rides in “Big Red.” Perhaps Michael’s greatest joys was spending time with his five grandchildren.
