Mom was born Margaret Marie Blum, daughter of George and Margaret Blum and grew up in the Bronx on Vermilyea Ave (Inwood). She graduated Sacred Heart of Mary High School at 532 West 215th street and went right to work for Bell Telephones as an operator, until marring her lifelong love, husband, partner, friend Oscar (Bob) Terry in 1953. After getting her family raised, she went back to NY Telephone in Nyack and then retiring from NT Tel in Mt. Kisco sometime later.
Marge loved to dance! She danced in a play at St Augustine’s in the 60’s, went out dancing with her husband every chance she got and to their chagrin, tried to get her kids and grandkids to dance with her whenever they were around. Marge loved taking pictures of events for the family, VFW, KVETs and the American Legion and never missed a parade that her husband would march in; always taking pictures of all the events, mom was our family historian.
Marge was devoted to their family, including her two sons Robert and Steven, her daughter Linda and later, the joys of her 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, all of whom will miss Granny more than words can say.
Family will receive friends on Friday Nov 20th 2020 from 3-6pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 10am, at St. Augustine’s Church, New City, followed by Burial at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. at 11am.
