I got to know DJ, first as his doctor, then as his friend. We always talked music, and it seemed that whomever I brought up, DJ had some connection. From Jerry Douglas to Sting’s first solo performances with Branford Marsalis. From Andy Kaufman to Steve Martin. And later, it was chocolate.  And what a positive soul he was! We stayed in touch over the past two years, and I only learned of his passing when he didn’t respond to a recent text. 
May his memory be for a blessing for all of us who were fortunate to have known him. 

Many years ago DJ  was the booking agent for The Gatlin’s. What a warm charming sweet soul he was. Every show I attended that he was there he was so nice. I am sorry to hear of his passing but I am sure he received a warm welcome from God. 

Dave was my sponsor and friend for many years. We helped each other through life's ups and downs. We served on the Board of Directors of Open Arms Homes of Recovery for many years. Dave and I, and sometimes Steve Churchill, attended concerts that Dave was involved in and we shared a mutual interest in music.
Geri and Dave always welcomed me into their home with gracious hospitality and I felt like a member of the family. I share your great loss but he will not be forgotten. I am sorry that commitments here in Florida keep me from attending the services, but I will be there in spirit.
