JoAnn Solicito

JoAnn Solicito of West Nyack, New York passed away peacefully on November 13, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Joann was born October 12, 1945 to Gertrude and Salvatore Giustiniani in the Bronx, New York. She grew up in the Bronx, moved to Scarsdale as a teen and to Rockland County after she was married. Joann is predeceased by her brother Joseph Giustiniani and her parents. JoAnn is survived by her husband Joseph, her two sons Michael (Pat) and Joseph (Anna), her four grandchildren Joseph (Samantha), Carli, Jacqueline and Anna, and her two great grandchildren Carmine and Antonella.

JoAnn was passionate and loved everything about her family, her home, her kitchen and her business. Every year during the holidays Joann spent weeks preparing gourmet meals and baking fabulous desserts for all to enjoy. In1975 she opened her own business called Creative Interiors by JoAnn. She had the courage to go out on her own in a male-dominated world with the support of her husband and mother. Her strength, confidence and talent were undeniable. She spent endless hours helping customers design their homes with love and care. Through the years as a businesswoman she taught her sons about hard work, compassion and determination.

JoAnn was an incredible woman - a wonderful wife, a caring mother, a loyal daughter, a radiant beauty and a friend. And above all else, Joann was a devoted and loving wife to her husband Joseph. She lived everyday for him; they were partners, soulmates, high school sweethearts and best friends.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday November 16th from 3pm to 7pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, New York. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi in West Nyack on Thursday at 10 am with a burial to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet, New York
