surrounded by loved ones. Janice grew up in Queens, moved to Brooklyn where she spent nearly all her
adulthood until 2019 when she moved to Haverstraw to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.
She was born on May 20th, 1955 to Rita and Joseph Baranowski. She married her soulmate Kurt in
August 5 th , 1993. She continuously pursued her education and graduated with her Masters in Education
in 1997. Janice then went on to teach science in NYC department of education for 20 years. Janice was a
lifelong lover of science. She enjoyed long walks on the beach, searching for sea glass, and traveling. She
was an avid lover of nature, beaches and learning about new cultures, but her greatest joys came from
her family. She is survived by her Husband Kurt Rauceo, daughter Elise Zbar; her son -in-law Corey Zbar.
She is also survived by her step children Jennifer Catarine and Jason Rauceo. She is also survived by her
sister Jacquelyn Baranowski –Guido and Brother Joseph Baranowski. She is survived by her greatest
loves her grandchildren Lillian Zbar, Joseph Zbar, and Mia Rauceo. In addition to her nephews. She will
be missed and remembered by all who knew her.
Family will receive friends on at Elise’s Home Sunday 2/12 12-4 pm, Monday 4-7pm and Tuesday 4-7pm.
A memorial service Celebration of Life will be Saturday 18 th February from 1-5 pm at Higgins Funeral
Home in New City, NY.
