Harold "Hank" Hayden passed away on November 16, 2011 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Yonkers, NY on December 16, 1927 to Albert and Bertha Hayden. Hank proudly served his country in the US Army. He was stationed in San Pedro, CA, Fort McArthur where he was an entertainer for the troops. Hank was an avid sports fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers, NY Mets, and the NY Giants Football Team. Hank was a resident of Rockland for 53 years, prior from Yonkers, NY. He worked for Otis Elevator in Yonkers, Dexter Folder in Pearl River, and Chrysler in Tappan. Hank loved to take his family on vacation to the Jersey Shore.
Hank is survived by his loving wife Catherine (nee Hackett) of 59 years, and their children Kenneth (Patricia) of Garnerville, NY, Richard (Diana) of Campbell Hall, NY, Thomas (Cynthia) of Mahwah, NJ, Robert (Barbara) of Blauvelt, NY, Kathleen (Robert) of West Nyack, NY, and James (Linda) of Palisades, NY. He will be missed dearly by his 17 grandchildren: Kevin, Michael, Daniel, Christine, Ryan, Jeffrey, Scott, Christopher, Brian, Thomas, Glenn, Amanda, Robert, Matthew, Eric, Gregory and Emily; and his 3 great grandchildren: Jonathan, Connor, and Kieran. Hank is predeceased by his brothers Albert, Jack, George, and Walter, and sisters June Franchek and Florence Yurista.
Family may receive friends on Sunday from 2-7pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Religious Services will be held on Monday, 11am, at the funeral home followed by interment at Fred Loescher Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY.
