Gail M. Sullivan

Gail M. Sullivan (Smith) of Nanuet passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, she was 82. She survived by her children Colleen Evangelista (Anthony), John Sullivan, Kerryann Kiely (Mike) and Maureen O’Neill (Bobby) She is also survived by her sister Patricia Karnbach of Winston-Salem, NC, sister in law Vera Sullivan as well as her brother and sister in law Michael and Patsy Sullivan. Predeceased by her husband John Sullivan and brothers Donald and Kevin Smith. Gail was born in the Bronx, New York to proud Irish immigrants Patrick and Margaret Smith who came to America from County Cavan, Ireland. She attended St. Ann’s School and St. Barnabas High School. She went on to work for KLM, Royal Dutch Airlines post graduation on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. She had the opportunity at a young age to travel the world including Egypt, France and Mallorca just to name a few. Gail had so many wonderful friends that were more like family to her.

She met John Sullivan and was married on June 11, 1966.

Gail loved everything Irish and especially loved her 14 grandchildren. Emily, Austin, Olivia, Mary and Derek Sullivan.

Ryan, Shannon and Aidan Evangelista. Owen, Patrick and Eamon Kiely. Robert, Erin and Katie O’Neill. She was their Mama Gail and biggest cheerleader. She enjoyed spending time with all of them. She was an avid sports fan and loved the NY Giants and Notre Dame. She will be missed with love by all who knew her.

A visitation for Gail will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 321 S. Main Street New City, NY 10956.

A funeral mass will be at 10am on Friday, April 14, 2023 at St. Anthony’s Shrine Church in Nanuet, NY
