He was born on the upper east side of Manhattan on August 31, 1932 to Joseph and Angela (Petraglia) Conforti, the third of four siblings.
At an early age, his family moved up to the Bronx and eventually settled into the Parkchester area. Raised in a very close knit and religious family, he would often remark that he was born a conservative. He attended school at St. Raymonds, St. Helena's and then on to Theodore Roosevelt High School. He was very proud of his Italian heritage and family.
He was a highly decorated combat veteran of the Korean War. On August 30, 1959 he married Maryanne Fariello and they were married for 43 years until her passing. Together they had 3 children, Joseph, Michael and Jeanine. Emil retired from Con Edison as a Personnel Administrator after 30 years and was always very active in politics. He was one of the original founders of the New York State Conservative Party.
His love for the sport of boxing in which he was always an aficionado brought him to the position of Deputy Commissioner of Boxing for the State of New York. In the years that followed he became a noted professional boxing judge.
Emil is survived by his sons, Joseph and Michael, daughter Jeanine and his loving sister Frances Conforti. He is also survived by his loving companion of many years Lynda Butt and her sons Lou and Rob.
Emil is predeceased by his parents, his wife Maryanne, his sister Mary Fico Stefanko, his brother Arthur and his daughter in law Tammy Jo Conforti.
