Elton Leroy Hill Jr.

at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife Carmen of 53 years and married 45 years. He is also survived by his daughter Yvette, son Ray, Granddaughter, Erica and Great Granddaughter, Brianna. He was proceeded in death by his other son, Elton III. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda (Sam) & Mary Ellen (Tom). His nieces, Lisa, Roshe’(Samuel), Joni (Patrick), Jamie-Lee (David) and nephew Christopher (Kiara). As well as many cousins and friends that loved him dearly. Elton was born on August 11, 1939 at Harlem Hospital in Manhattan, NY to the parentage of Elton Leroy Hill, Sr. and Susan Ella Hill.

Elton worked as a NY Transit Police Officer, who then transferred to the NY State Supreme Court as a court officer until his retirement in 1994. He loved to watch most sports, especially baseball. In his younger years, he played in a bowling league and earned many trophies. He loved this sport so much and even had a few “Perfect Games” which is a game of all strikes; 12 consecutive strikes in a row! Our beloved father grew up in a generation where he was the only male in his family who was always surrounded by women. We would always laugh about that and tell him “Dad, you’re stuck with us, and he would respond with “I would stop doing for me to do for you.” He would also say “my job is to protect the women in the family.” And that he did!

Honey, Dad, Junior, or Elton as we all know him was a very special man who will be missed dearly!

Rest in peace…until we meet again

Those memories of you, will always bring a smile to my face. You always meant so very much and always will. The fact that you’re no longer here, will always cause us pain, but you’re forever in our hearts…until we meet again.

A visitation for Elton will be held Monday, November 18, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 321 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956. An entombment will occur Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Ocean County Memorial Park, 280 Wells Mills Rd, Ocean Township, NJ 08758.
