Doris T. Willows

Doris T. Willows, 94, passed away on December 3, 2022. Doris was born and raised in Bronxville, NY. Doris moved to New City, NY in 1957 where she raised her family of 6 children with Lawrence, her husband of 63 years. She served 62 years as a life-long member and past President of the New City Fire Engine Co. No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary. Doris was also past matron of Eastern Star. She retired and moved to St. Petersburg Florida with her husband, where they spent over 25 happy years among friends in the winter, returning to Rockland in the summers to be amongst their large family. In Florida, Doris was past president of Five Towns Women’s Club of St. Petersburg. Doris loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her six children, son, Lawrence (Skip) Willows and wife Linda, son, Robert Willows, daughter, Ginny Wolfe and husband Tom, son, William Willows, daughter Margaret McSharar and husband John, and son, Rich Willows and wife Linda. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 grandchildren-in-law and 10 great-grandchildren.

Doris will be remembered by all who knew her for her kind nature, devotion to serving her community, her sense of humor and love of her family.

The viewing will be at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service, New City on Wednesday, December 7 from 4:00 to 8:00pm. A service will be held on Thursday, December 8th, 11 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New City Fire Dept., 15 Maple Ave., New City, NY
