I just heard the news and my heartfelt sympathy goes out to everyone in the Sassano family. I used to babysit for Dana for several years...since she was two and a half...and I am truly devastated with this news. Dana was such a beautiful little girl and young woman, inside and out. Laura, Joe, Brandon, Nicky and Kayley--you have your own very special angel looking after you now. Please know that I am thinking of each of you.

This tragedy has reached so deeply into the hearts of the community.  I did not know Dana but I have been grieving for her and her family.  I have friends and family and acquaintances that have connections with Dana and her family and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them over the past several days.  I was compelled to watch the memory video and found it to be such an incredible tribute to a lovely young lady that seemed to live life to the fullest.  She had such a joy about her. Born on Easter Sunday; called Home during the Christmas season. A too short but remarkable Earthly life, filled with goodness, purity and love, bookmarked by the two most joyous Christian holidays. THERE ARE TOO MANY YOUNG LIVES BEING TAKEN BY THESE TRAGIC CAR ACCIDENTS IN THE NY METRO AREA.  This is becoming almost an everday occurrence.  This young girl probably had a wonderful day of skiing and in a matter of seconds she's gone..May she rest in peace...another beatiful Angel in Heaven looking down on all of us grieving this loss...

There are no words that can adequately  convey the compassion and heartache I feel for your family while enduring tragic event. I can't believe that Dana has passed away, I'm still in shock about the whole problem. I can't ever forget her coming to church where me and johnny tried teaching her guitar. I loved Dana and i cried hysterical at her wake. I ask god why her out of everyone in that car.  But i realized that god chooses the most beautiful roses for his garden.  Dana was beautiful, funny, and very generous. i can't wait to see her in heaven. i'm still crying because of this. i loved her a lot. Why do the good die young?... The lord giveth and the lord taketh away. Joey your family is in my prayers.

Dana will always remain one of our extended family members...Dana was one of 8 incredible young leaders that came to our home on the Jersey shore every summer for the past 3 years...the best part was being able to share breakfast with them and making Dana french toast or pancakes anyway she wanted it...she was a beautiful, talented young woman that left such a lasting impression on us, we were honored to have her in our lives. She just never looked at anything in a negative light. Her beauty inside and out is something I will always admire about her. I was in Dana's art class throughout high school and she was an amazing artist. I will remember her as being kindhearted with such beautiful morals. I did not know Dana personally, but she was 2 of my classes. She was a beautiful writer. She was just beautiful inside and out. When I found out about her death I was in complete shock and still am. Why is such a wonderful person that was always so kind taken? I really wish I got to know her more. Even though we weren't friends she's still had a huge impact on me and always will. When I saw this news story on channel 12, I was just in complete misery. I am so sorry for your loss. She will be forever missed.On Monday 12-3-11 being in 1st period writer's workshop i just wont be able to even look at her seat empty. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.
