Bruno Michael Terilli passed on November 29th from cancer and related complications. In heaven he joins his parents, Mariano and Mary, his brother Louis, and his daughter Jane. He is survived by Dale, his devoted wife of 40 years, children Suzanne, Linda, Michael, Dennis and Scott, along with their spouses, sister Jean, and many wonderful nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
After an early career in professional baseball and a stint as a fireman, his life’s work was helping others through recreational therapy for 29 years at New York Hospital. After retirement he worked for a small transportation company driving individuals with developmental delays.
As an amazing athlete, he could often be seen swinging a bat, wielding a racket, or donning a glove. When not playing he could be found officiating baseball, football or basketball on both the high school and collegiate level.
In addition to his love of country, Bruno’s impact on this planet cannot be measured as his catholic faith and his soft spirit presented itself wherever he went. He had a special gift of making everyone feel like the most important person on the planet, whether it was a restaurant worker, salesperson or total stranger he would meet in passing. His fun natured personality brought out the best in everyone.
Always happy to help with kindness, he was a live and let live kind of guy keeping busy with family vacations and visits, regular phone calls and check-ins. His devotion to his wife Dale is inspiring and unmatched (only possibly to that of his dogs).
For now, the sun shines less bright, the moon a bit dimmer and the stars miss some twinkle, but they will be overrun by the happy memories, entertaining stories and that big smile he has given us for 86 years.
Our love is immeasurable Bruno, dad, uncle, gramps, and great grandpa.
