Tony, one of ten children was born on October 14,1939 to Emilio and Petra Rodriguez in Canóvanas, Puerto Rico. At an early age he moved to Garnerville, New York. Tony met Cathy, his wife of 56 years while working together at Shortline Delivery in 1960. They married at St. Joseph's Church in Spring Valley in 1962.They called New City, NY home in 1969 until they both passed away.
Tony earned a living for 25 years as a Dock Builder, working for Union Local 1456. He also found his calling creating beautiful kitchens and bathrooms. This led to him to open his successful business, “Tony's Ceramic Tile”. Dad was a hard worker and often would be seen taking care of his home, fixing cars and mowing his lawn.
In his early years Tony bowled at Hi Tor Lanes in the Spanish-American League. He was a huge fan of all sports, especially the New York Mets and Jets. As an avid golfer, he spent countless hours at Rockland Lake Golf Course first as a player and then as a ranger.
As kids, we spent many family weekends at Seaside Heights Jersey Shore. Tony had a great sense of humor, loved a good joke and was a wonderful storyteller. He loved to cook and enjoyed having friends and family over for pool parties and BBQ’s. Tony enjoyed a cold Bud Light on a hot summer’s day, music, dancing, traveling the world and taking cruises with our Mom. He lived life to the fullest!
