OLDEST RETIRED CLARKSTOWN POLICE OFFICER PASSES. Andrew W. Thompson passed away on February 9, 2012 at the age of 84. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Lillian Elizabeth. Survived by his daughter Sandra and husband William Forshee, son Andrew and wife Irene Thompson, granddaughters Nancy and husband William Raffaele, and Jean Marie Thompson. Also predeceased by his sister Mae Shields, survived by brothers Charles and Robert Henderson, and sister Victoria Mautner. He also leaves behind his loving companion Ena Hoflund and family, many nieces and nephews, and family Kimberly Mcnamee and Aimee Forshee. He served in the Navy from 1945-1947 as a Seaman first class. He joined Clarkstown Police department to be become one of its first police officers. He was promoted from Patrolman to Detective and later to Sergeant. After he retired, he was a home builder in Nanuet and owned his own excavating company. He also served as Superintendent of Oak Hill Cemetery as well as serving on the board of trustees. He enjoyed time at his summer home in Cape Cod with family as well as traveling to the West Indies. Visiting hours at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, 321 South Main Street, New City, NY on Monday, 2-4pm, 7-9pm. Funeral service at Higgins on Tuesday, 11:00am. Interment to follow at Garden of Memories, Soldier Hill Road, Washington Township, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Andrew W.
