Patricia (Farri) Bessoni, 64, of Old Saybrook passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 22nd, 2013 after a long, extraordinarily courageous battle with cancer. In her final hours she was surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia was born on February 16th, 1949, in New Britain, CT, daughter of the late Mareo and Mary (Cannerella) Farri. After marrying George in 1973 they moved to Old Saybrook, CT, with their children where they established Bessoni Builders, LLC. George and Patricia embarked on several large-scale residential developments and soon became one of the largest General Contractors in the Shoreline area.
Patricia is survived by her children and their spouses: Dawn and husband Dave Waida of Old Saybrook, Gregory and Tara of Santa Maria, CA, George Jr. and Barbara of Old Saybrook, Gary and Debbie of Santa Maria, CA, Glenn and Sharon of Southington, and Geoffrey of Middletown. She is also survived by her brothers Richard and his wife Mary of Simsbury, and Robert and wife Karen of South Carolina. Patricia leaves behind several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law who all cherished their close relationship with Patricia: Frank, Ray, Louis, Helen, Pauline, and Ann. She will be greatly missed by her many loving family members, especially her 13 grandchildren: Kyle, Jason, Ashley, Michael, Chelsea, Daniel, Brittney, Peter, Ethan, Ella, Emelia, Brenda, and Bonnie.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband George and daughter Samantha Thompson.
Those who were blessed enough to know Patricia will always remember her love of family and her ability to open her heart and home to others. She created and shared a special bond with each of her grandchildren. Patricia loved to cook for her family, and every holiday she hosted amazing gatherings filled with love and graciousness. She was a humble woman who was always nurturing, patient, and thoughtful. She will be in our hearts forever and always.
A private viewing for family will be held at New Britain Memorial - Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, Farmington Ave., New Britain on Tuesday, June 25 at 8:00 a.m. All are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Church on North St. in New Britain at 10:00 a.m.
