Marlene Coscina Tufano, 81, beloved wife of sixty years to Joseph P. Tufano, died peacefully on April 9, 2023 at home with her loving family by her side. Born on October 11, 1941, Marlene was a lifelong resident of New Britain and the devoted daughter of the late Casimiro and Lucia (Lombardo) Coscina. She shared pure love as the mother of Lana, Gary, and Greg, and her family defined her life. After graduating from Mary Immaculate Academy, she was employed as a legal secretary at a local law firm before marrying. Marlene and Joe were high school sweethearts whose love endured over six decades. They traveled the world together, but her home was the center of her universe. Marlene possessed grace, genuine beauty, a sense of fun, and a generous nature. She was filled with unbridled joy, fierce compassion, and devotion to friends and family. Marlene had a larger than life personality, deep intelligence, and passion for history. She always had a story to tell! Marlene was a true force of nature sustaining strength and dignity into her final days. She lives on forever in our hearts. Marlene is survived by her daughter Lana Angelo and her husband Ron of Wethersfield, her son Gary Tufano and his wife Rosanna of Old Lyme, and her son Greg Tufano of New Britain. She was an amazing Nonna who leaves wonderful memories with her five grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Gary Tufano, Jr., Alissa Goodwin and her husband Bryan and son Martin of Wethersfield, Amanda Tufano and her fiancé Chris Amato of East Lyme, Ronnie Angelo of Newington, and Giancarlo Tufano of New Britain. She is survived by her brother Dennis Coscina and his wife Trudy of East Windsor, sister in-law Linda Faluotico and her husband Ralph, and brother in-law Patrick Tufano of Jupiter, FL. She also leaves many dear friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will forever be grateful to Memorial Sloan Kettering for the gift of added life they provided through their care.
