He was born in Soje, Poland on August 15, 1941 to the late Jozef Abramski and Zofia (Kolodziejska) Abramska. He was married in Poland to Zofia Tanska in 1966 shortly before moving to the U.S. in January of 1967 and settling in New Britain, and later in Rocky Hill, to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Abramski was employed for many years by Caval Tool in Newington and previously served in the Polish Armed Forces (Siły Zbrojne Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej). He was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church, New Britain.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors in general. He was a history buff and would talk your ear off about his beloved Poland if you let him. In his later years, in nice weather, you could usually find him outside on a bench watching nature and people. He was friendly and out-going and had a gift for making friends. He will be most remembered for his immense love for his four grandchildren, his generosity and the big, kind smile that no one forgets.
Lucjan is survived and will be dearly missed by his eldest daughter, Betty Hindle and her husband Andrew Hindle of Cromwell, his son: Lucien Abramski, Jr. and his wife Jessica Abramski of Haddam, and his youngest daughter: Katherine (Kasia) Fabi and her husband Antonio Fabi of Rocky Hill, his sister, Janina Kobczynska and his brother Marion Abramski, both of Poland.
Also his Grandchildren whom he absolutely adored: Jessica & Amanda Hindle, Danica Fabi and Zachary Abramski and many dear friends, cousins, nieces and nephews here and in Poland.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Stephan Abramski who lived in Poland.
His memorial service will be Saturday May 12th, at 11AM at the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain. A calling hour will precede the service from 10-11AM. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family.
