John spent three and a half years in the United States Marine Corps and was a proud member of the Spanish American Cultural Club. He loved his trips to Spain and spending time with his family and friends.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather along with the love of his life Rosita, he leaves his son Fred Dietzel, and his wife Linda, of Lebanon PA, son John Dietzel, and his wife Barbara of Southington CT; his grandchildren Kayla Oberg and her husband Eric and Nicole Dietzel; and great granddaughter Nora Oberg. John also leaves his dear friends Robert and Mercedes and Nancy and John. He will be forever missed by his family and many other friends.
As a family we would like to express our deepest appreciation for the exceptional care provided to John by Bristol Homecare and Hospice and BrightStar Care of Central CT. A special thank you to John’s nurse Julie and Dr. Reyes for their compassionate care and always being there for our family.

A period of visitation will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain from 10:00-12:00pm with a prayer service to follow at 12:00pm.
