Born in Kalush, Ukraine, he was son to the late Wasyl and Maria (Gabra) Konik and retired in 1991 from New Britain Machine after 39 years of service. He was a parishioner and a very active member of St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. A devoted husband and father, he cherished his time spent with family. He will be remembered for being a light hearted man with a great sense of humor.
In addition to his beloved wife Anna of 60 years, he is also survived and will be dearly missed by; a daughter Helen Judd and husband Robert of Arnold, MD, two sons, John Konik and wife Gayle of Dearborn, MI, and Michael Konik and his wife, Roxanne of New Britain, his three dear grandchildren: Andrew Konik and his wife, Meredith, Bradley Konik and Christopher Judd, extended family including many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 8:45am from the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00am in St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 303 Eddy Glover Blvd. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Glastonbury.
Visitation hours will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 from 4-8pm with Panakhyda Services at 7:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may also be made to St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Church. Thank you for visiting and sharing.
