Evelyn V. (Olsen) Beauchene, 90, widow of George Beauchene, of New Britain, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011 at the Monsignor Bojnowski Manor. Born in Old Saybrook, she was the daughter to the late Carl H. and Veronica E. (Clarke) Olsen and a parishioner of St. Jerome Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family and loved gardening. She will be most remembered for her cookies and Christmas cactus plants which bloomed nearly all year long.
A caring and devoted mother and grandmother she will be dearly missed by her three daughters: Sandra Pelletier and her husband Michael of Bristol, Jacqueline Deluca and husband Chester of Southington and Mary Beauchene of New Britain, her son Kenneth Beauchene and wife Laurie of Plainville, her sister Alva Leining of Middletown, grandchildren: Angela Deluca and Jennifer Galayda of Southington, and George and Kenneth Beauchene Jr. of Plainville, as well as her great grandson, Chase Galayda of Southington. Evelyn was also predeceased by a son, Scott J. Beauchene in Oct, 2010, four brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will begin Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at 10:00am from the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 11:00am in St. Jerome Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation hours will be TODAY, Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
