Edward A. Brusek, a lifelong resident of New Britain, passed away February 11, 2019. He was born in New Britain to the late Andrew and Agnes (Was) Brusek. Brusek was a prolific builder of custom homes throughout central Connecticut for much of his career before moving on to serve his home parish, Sacred Heart Church, as its general contractor. Active in the New Britain community throughout his life, Brusek was a member of New Britain Elks Lodge 957, the Polish Falcons Nest 88, the Sacred Heart Church Holy Name Society, and the Northwestern Club T.G.M.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Jeannette (Tattersall) Brusek. He is survived by his daughter Jeanne Blair of Fort Worth, Texas, and her sons, Timothy and his wife Donna, of Denver, Colorado, and William and his wife Tara, of Fort Worth. He is survived by his great-grandsons Andrew and Christian of Denver, and Wyatt and Carson of Fort Worth. Brusek is also survived by his longtime companion, Helen Lizon, of New Britain, his sister Helen and several nieces and nephews, among them, his nephew and godson Ronald Stankevich and his wife Christine of Plainville.
He was a United States Air Force veteran. He was also an ardent fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
Visiting hours are Saturday February 16, from 9:30AM-11AM at the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial 11:30AM at Sacred Heart Church of New Britain. Committal prayers will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery Chapel.
