Dorothy A. Butkiewicz, 94, of Plainville and formerly New Britain, passed away peacefully in the care of Apple Rehab Farmington Valley in Plainville with her family by her side. Dorothy now joins her beloved late husband, Francis (Harry) Butkiewicz with the Lord in Heaven. Born in New Britain to the late Jon and Sophie (Okula) Blaszko, Dorothy attended New Britain High School and later met her beloved Francis. They were married in 1945 and raised their two sons, Brian and Francis Jr. in New Britain. Dorothy is survived by, and will be dearly missed by: her sons Brian and his wife Karen, of Plainville, and Francis Jr. (Skip) and his wife Darlene, of Southington; her five grandchildren: Brian and his wife Nicole, Eric and his wife Amanda, Connor, and Shalyn, all of Southington, and Patrick, of New York,; as well has her four beloved great-grandchildren: Caleb, Sydney, Logan, and Lincoln. Dorothy’s family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the staff at Apple Rehab Farmington Valley for their kind and compassionate care. A period of visitation will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain from 8:30-9:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Chruch, 19 S. Canal St, Plainville with interment services to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Burritt St, New Britain.
