Arkadiusz “Arky” Plona, 88, widower of Józefa (Mikulska) Plona, passed away peacefully at home, July 13, 2018. He was born in Mątwica, Poland and was son to the late Adam and Helena (Wysocka) Plona. He was predeceased by a daughter Eva, and a son Mark.
Along with his wife and son Andrew, he immigrated to the United States in 1961, where he worked the factory life, so that he could provide for a solid foundation and life for his family. He retired from The Fafnir Bearing Co. after 30 years of service.
He will be remembered for his Catholic faith, kindness, compassion, and being a consummate gentleman.
He had many joys in life…. His Family, UConn Huskies, Gardening, playing with the dogs, knitting, crocheting, we don’t believe there is a member of our family who doesn’t have a baby blanket, scarf or hat, made by him.
He is survived and will be dearly missed by his family; sons Andrew and his wife Jan, Peter and Cindy, daughter in-law Jennifer, his grandsons Adam, Matthew and Luke, granddaughter Amanda and two wonderful great-grandsons Emmitt, and Owen.
The family would like to thank his extended family, friends, neighbors, and his doctors, especially Dr. Catherine Holmes.

Funeral services will begin Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 9:00am from the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 10:00am in Holy Cross Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation hours will be Friday from 4:00 until 7:00pm at the funeral home.
