It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Antoni Marcel Holubek. Born on October 13, 1927, as the last child of seven children to Waclaw and Josephine in Poland. He endured many early hardships and decided to pursue his dreams and hopes and came to America equipped with his two hands, strong determination and no knowledge of the English language. This led to him landing a job at Fafnir Bearing Company where he met his wife Rose, now deceased. In 1952 they were married and in 1956 and 1961 respectively Christine and Edward completed the family. He provided everything we needed and at times things we wanted. He never complained, he was true to his word, respected rules, lived by the Ten Commandments and proudly became a U.S. Citizen. In 1979 Christine married Kenneth Perun and in 1983 Antoni’s only grandchild, Justin was born immediately becoming a devoted and proud grandfather to the apple of his eye. In 2001, Edward married Joanna who had a daughter Zaneta and Antoni’s family was complete. He retired from Emhart after 35 years of service which allowed him to pursue his passions, observing his grandson pursue a golfing career, refurbish old bicycles for children in the neighborhood and sharing coffee with his retired friends at Dunkin Donuts. In the fall of 2010 he met Ashley Johnson, Justin’s girlfriend and took an immediate liking to her. He was a father and grandfather in the very truest sense of the word, loving you enough to tell you the truth and always being there in times of need. He passed away on August 23, 2013. You are invited to meet us at Sacred Heart Church in New Britain for his memorial mass on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 10:00 AM. New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home was entrusted.
