Tony was born in New Britain and was the son of the late Bronislaw and Mariana (Boguslawska) Grala. He was a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from Fafnir Bearing Co. after many years of service. Tony was a member of St. Cyril Methodius Church in Hartford and a member of the Polish Army Veterans Group No. 119 in Hartford.
He was a loving husband and a devoted friend. He was a hard-working man who enjoyed dancing and loved being with his family and friends. He will be missed dearly by all of them.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Virginia; a stepdaughter and her husband, Boguslawa and Andrzej Stefanski of Meriden; and a stepson with his wife, Zenon and Ewa Gawek of Hartford. He is also survived by a brother, Gene Grala of New Britain and a sister, Joanna Cypek of Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves one granddaughter and five grandsons, and a beloved great-granddaughter, Janelle.
Funeral service will be Friday, May 28, 2010, at 8:30 a.m. at the New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain (directions: I-84, right off No. 37, 1½ miles on right) followed by a funeral liturgy at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church on Broad Street, New Britain. Burial with military honors will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
