Anna (Santamaria) Branca, 98, widow of Joseph R. Branca, of New Britain, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 18, 2015 with family by her side. Anna was born in Kensington, CT on November 14, 1916 and was daughter to the late Frank and Rosa (Casperini) Santamaria. She had worked at Landers, Frary and Clark and General Electric before her retirement. She was a longtime member of St. Ann Church, St. Ann Ladies Guild and the St. Ann Wednesday Seniors. She volunteered at the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program where she was recognized in the year 2000 for her 10 years of dedicated service, New Britain General Hospital, Food Share and up until this past March at the New Britain Senior Center.
She is survived and will be dearly missed by four dear grandchildren: Joseph A. Branca and his wife Christine of Forked River, NJ, Sonya Richmond and husband Jonathan of Newington, Joeann Rivera and husband Carmelo of New Britain, Lenny Stubbs of Mount Laurel, NJ, her two sisters: Elizabeth Marcella of East Lyme and Dolores Cote of New Britain, her precious great grandchildren; Scott, Keith and Jason McKevitt, Lisa Branca Jefferson and Joseph Brendle, Katelyn, Anthony and Hailey Stubbs and Peter and Elizabeth Richmond, her great great grandchildren; Alanna and Alessandra Jefferson and Chloe, Madison, Alicia, Mia and Quinn McKevitt, and many nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by a daughter, Maryann Stubbs, a son; Joseph F. Branca, three brothers; Frank, Anthony and James Santa Maria, three sisters; Jenny Rubon, Theresa Frick and Ida Kaszczuk, her brothers-in-law: George Cote and James Marcella, Patrick Rubon and Horace Frick, and sister-in-law: Lorraine Santa Maria.
Family and friends are invited Thursday, May 21, 2015 for a time of visitation from 9:00am to 11:00am at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT followed by her funeral liturgy at 12PM in St. Ann Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, all in New Britain.
