Wallace Leo Oberkampf was born on October 11, 1930 to Irma Hoffmann and Henry J. Oberkampf in New Braunfels, TX. Wallace passed into the arms of our Lord on December 19, 2013, with his family at his side. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Kendell Oberkampf. Wallace is survived by his loving wife, Winona of 63 years, and his two daughters, Diana Hanke and husband Larry, and Bobbie Everhart and husband, David, four grandchildren, Kelley (Barry) Cooney, Angela (Bana) Estes, Bryan (Rainbow) Wieland, and Nicole (Bill) Drumm along with eight great-grandchildren, and his loving precious puppy girl, Heidi Louise. Also surviving him are his sisters-in-law, Alice Oberkampf and Gloria Reininger, nieces and nephews, Johnny Oberkampf, Laurie (Wendell) Baumann, Ron Reininger and Kim (Mark) Hagen.
Wallace was an active member of Cross Lutheran Church for the past 60 years. Wallace retired from Wickes Lumber Company after 35 years. He was well respected for his work ethic and integrity. He was also a lifelong member of Mission Valley Bowling Club, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and time spent at his river home on the Guadalupe River.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Zoeller Funeral Home on Sunday, December 22, 2013. Funeral services will be held at Cross Lutheran Church on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
The family wishes to thank Pastor Don Fraker, Hope Hospice and the wonderful attending staff at Kirkwood Manor.
