She was born to Richard James “Freck” and Dola Midkiff, December 3 in San Antonio, She was raised in Gonzales, Texas, where she loved riding horses.
She was a spunky tomboy who loved sports. She inherited her father’s love for baseball. He was a renowned pitcher for the University of Texas Longhorns and enjoyed a brief career with the Boston Red Sox.
She loved bowling, golfing and spending time with her family and friends. She loved her friends like family.
Sharon was married to Art Jones, her best friend, for 31 years. They shared a love of sports, dancing and an ice cold beer. Sharon always told us, “Fun people don’t sleep”.
Sharon was a loving, generous, Mother and Meme, who lived her life for her grandchildren, Scotty Camacho & Bren Gonzalez, and her two daughters, Shelley & Monica Hauschild.
Sharon will always be remembered for her high spirit, energy, vibrancy and beauty. Mostly she will be remembered for her big, beautiful, fun loving heart.
She is survived by her husband, Art Jones, and their daughters, Shelley & Monica and their grandchildren, Scotty & Bren.
Visitation will be at Zoeller Funeral Home on Wednesday November 15, 2017 from 5:00-8:00. The funeral will be at Zoeller Funeral Home on Thursday November 16, 2017 at 10:00 am with graveside services to follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Hospice facility of your choice.
