

She was born November 11, 1929, to Grace Opal Askew and Douglas Wedmore Askew in Colony, Oklahoma, and left this world at the age of 95 years.
She grew up on the family farm near Burns Flat and Dill City, Oklahoma. She graduated from Burns Flat High School and then attended Oklahoma College for Women. She completed her Occupational Education degree at Wayland Baptist University in May 1983. She spent many years as a stay-at-home mom and about 25 years in office administration for several doctors in Plainview.
Grace married Myron Eldon Morgan on September 8, 1950, in Amarillo, Texas. They were married for 44 years until his passing in 1994. They lived in Amarillo, Texas, Snyder, Oklahoma, Hereford, Texas, and Plainview, Texas. She moved to Houston, Texas in 2006, Round Rock, Texas in 2012, then spent the last three years in New Braunfels, Texas.
She is survived by three daughters Martha Leatherman and husband Rick Leatherman of New Braunfels, Texas, Kathleen “Kati” Morgan of Oklahoma City and husband Jim George, Susan Morgan of Round Rock, Texas and husband Dave Freireich and one son Charles “Chuck” Morgan and wife Nina Morgan of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren Russell Leatherman, Morgan Carr, Emily Freireich, Ellen Freireich, Tyler Morgan, Bryce Morgan, Luke Morgan, and Rachel Morgan. Great-grandchildren include Alyson, Brenna, Natalee, Levi, Dylan, Emmerson, Ryan, Lizzy, and Sutton. She has one great-great-granddaughter, Eva. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Norma Jean Olsen, and her husband, Myron.
Grace cherished spending her time with family. She lived independently for about 27 years until transitioning to care facilities in recent years. She stayed physically active, exercising regularly, and took care of her own home. She enjoyed reading and baking. In her retirement years, she also appreciated opportunities to travel with some of her children and grandchildren.
A small graveside service will be held at Plainview Memorial Park in Plainview, Texas, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025. A celebration of her life with family will be held in the coming weeks.
